FacebookThe explosion of social media is an amazing tool, for both connecting to old friends & family or building engagement platforms for your business. But as the rise in marketing expands so does the amount of spam–an awful truth that unfortunately we have learned to live with.

We put up with unsolicited emails from “companies” we have never subscribed to, or whose website we’ve never been to and that is by the most annoying form. Second to emails are auto-DM’s (Direct Messages) on Twitter or spam comments on your Facebook Page or Profile.

Great post, Greg. Smart businesses are harnessing social media and online chatter to build real relationships with people and turn this trust into sales over time. Others are just worried more about getting a ton of friends/followers, without putting the time and effort into real interactions.
