IBM Brings Social Media Analytics to a New Level
May 11 2010 by Erik Eitel ~ 2 CommentsIs it possible that the same software that popular language tutoring software, Rosseta Stone, uses can also be used for social media analytics? You better believe it! This week IBM debuted their new analytic tool for social media called the SPSS Modeler data mining and text analytics workbench. Yes, it is a mouth full, but it’s supposed to be the best in the business. It calculates user trends and is able to make accurate projections and suggestions based on the large quantities of data that is inserted.
Is this software practical for small business owners? Probably not. The cost is just too high. On the other hand though, the large corporations will have a field day with the power that this new IBM tool can provide.
Take a look at IBM’s SPSS official website to learn more about this new “toy.” Do you think it will live up to it’s hype? Will it drastically improve the way company’s analyze data? Let us hear your thoughts!
