One of the biggest differences in online shopping and shopping at the mall are people’s experiences. Many people prefer to shop in a mall because they can look and feel the product right there. Online shopping can also provide enriched experience when done right. Companies can allow people to see closeups of items, share products with friends on social networks, see reviews and easily view other products they might like. Here is an example of a great product page from Anthropologie.com. See below for some things they do well (and that you might be able to take inspiration from).

Quick View

When customers are browsing products in a certain category, is a good idea to have a quick view, so customers can easily view a product without having to leave the main category page. In this quick view customers can change the color, share on social networks, pick sizes and add to their shopping carts.

Full product details

The customer can also click on full view which has additional features like full details, reviews, and the ability to add the product to your wishlist, email it to show your friends or share it with people on social networks.

Detailed Reviews

Below is the review tab where you can filter by preference, print the review, vote if the review is helpful and share the review on social networks. Online consumer reviews are important because it’s another form of work of mouth and can cause the customers to complete the purchase. Nielsen’s Global Online Consumer Survey reveals that 90% of consumers online trust recommendations from people that they know (that is why social sharing is important), with 70% trusting the opinions posted online by unknown users.

Related Products

On every product page, Anthropologie.com shows people other items they might like, based on the item they’re viewing currently. 54% of U.S. online shoppers notice product recommendations on e-commerce sites, according to a survey by Forrester Research. 34% of those shoppers say they have made purchases based on recommendations.
