Being Thankful for Your Customers

November 24 2010 by ~ 0 Comments

During Thanksgiving, some of us click off our brains and turn into little eating machines. As you put that glorious Turducken on the table remember who helped you get it there: your customers. If you’re lucky, they have been buying your products and services all year around. Without them you couldn’t have that second helping of pumpkin pie.

In keeping up with the theme of Thanksgiving remember to thank your customers. Ted Rubin, in our last chatter marketing episode on relationship marketing talked about how he thanks everyone that re-tweets him via Twitter. He said that “people love it” and finds that simple recognition can go along way. Just thanking a customer for their business can be a key piece in building loyalty and helps you create a brand that’s easy to trust.

Here are some things you can do to thank your customers:

  • Personal notes or cards
  • Coupons
  • Special offers
  • Up grades
  • Set up rewards cards memberships
  • Thank customers when ordering or in packaging
  • Provide excellence customer service
  • Give back to the community by donating

While thanking your customers you have a great opportunity to remind them to follow your brand on Twitter and Facebook. This gives you the opening to interact with customers on a different level. Plus consumers engaged with a brand through social media are 50% more likely to buy and recommend the brand’s products than before they were engaged.

Another opportunity you can take while thanking your customers is ask for (and maybe give people something as a thank you) a review of the products because 83% of holiday shoppers are influenced by reviews. This could give your company an added boost this holiday shopping season. Another thing you can do while thanking your customers is to provide them with a survey about your services, so you know the areas to improve on for next year.

We hope you have happy and safe Thanksgiving!
